Notary FAQs: Unlocking the Secrets!

What ID Do I Need, Seriously?

Alright, listen up! To get your document notarized, you'll need a valid, government-issued photo ID. Think driver's license, passport, or state-issued ID card. Expired IDs are a big no-no, so make sure yours is current. If you show up with a library card or a coupon for a free coffee, you're going to have a bad time. We need to verify you are who you say you are, not who you wish you were!

What Documents Can You Notarize?

I can notarize a wide range of documents, from affidavits and powers of attorney to deeds and contracts. However, we can't notarize everything. For example, we can't notarize blank documents or anything that's already been signed. And if you bring in a document written in Klingon, we're going to have a problem. If you're unsure, just ask! I'm here to help, not judge your life choices.

What Should I Bring to Notarization?

Besides your valid ID and the document to be notarized, bring your A-game! Make sure you understand what you're signing. Also, bring any witnesses required for your document. If I have to call on an external witness, it would incur additional charges.

Can You Give Legal Advice, Please?

Absolutely not! I am not an attorney, and I cannot provide legal advice. If you need legal guidance, consult with a qualified attorney. We're here to verify your signature, not to tell you whether you're making a terrible mistake. If you ask us for legal advice, we'll politely direct you to someone who actually knows what they're talking about. Don't shoot the messenger!

What If I Don't Speak English?

The document must be in a language you understand, and you must be able to communicate with the notary. If you don't speak English, bring a qualified interpreter. We need to ensure you fully comprehend what you're signing. Otherwise, it's a recipe for disaster. We don't want you signing away your life savings because you thought you were ordering a pizza. Comprende?
